Umea House is located on the outskirts one of the most northern cities in the world. This location has fantastic and hugely diverse seasonal light patterns. The capture and play of natural light is the main aspect for the design of this house. Deep cuts on the West and East allow the shallow morning and evening sun to penetrate into the house.Tall windows to the South create patterns of light and shadow throughout the day. The house is constructed in timber, blending in with the landscape and following the local tradition.
